| DESCRIPTION |
Gatinox is a film-coated tablet containing gatifloxacin, a synthetic broad-spectrum 8-methoxyfluoroquinolone that is the antibiotics of “quiniolone” family having bactericidal activity against a wide range of both Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms. Gatifloxacin is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, sinuses, skin, and urinary tract and certain sexually transmitted diseases.

| INDICATIONS |
- Gatinox is indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections in adults 18 years or older due to susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the conditions listed below.
- Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (ABECB) due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Staphylococcus aureus.
- Acute sinusitis due to Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae.
- Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae or Legionella pneumophila.

| DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATIONS |
Acute Sinus Infections: The usual dose is 400 mg taken once a day for 10 days.
Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (ABECB): The usual dose is 400 mg once a day for 5 days.
Complicated Urinary Tract Infections, Kidney Inflammation: The usual dose is 400 mg taken once a day for 7 to 10 days.
Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections: The 200 mg once a day for 3 days. Alternatively, you may be given a single dose of 400 mg.
Gonorrhea: The usual treatment is a single dose of 400 mg.
Pneumonia: The usual dose is 400 mg taken once a day for 7 to 14 days.

| CONTRAINDICATIONS |
Gatinox is contraindicated in persons with a history of hypersensitivity to gatifloxacin or any member of the quinolone class of antibiotics.

| PRECAUTIONS |
Gatinox should be used with caution in patients with a history of any allergic reactions to Gatifloxacin or other drugs. Patients receiving Gatinox should be well hydrated and Patients with poor kidney function may need smaller doses.

| SIDE EFFECTS |
The adverse reactions occasionally been observed are irregular heart beat, fainting, swelling of the extremities or face, dizziness, skin blistering, headache, change in heart rate, rash, itching, tingling, weight gain or loss, blurred vision, ear problems etc.

| DRUG INTERACTIONS |
If Gatinox is taken with certain drugs, the effect either could be increased, decreased or altered. Special care should be taken before concomitant use with Antacids containing aluminium or magnesium, Digoxin, Insulin, Iron, Nonsteroidal anti-inflamatory drugs.

| WARNINGS |
The safety of gatifloxacin in children, adolescent, pregnant and lactating women has not been established.

| PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS |
Store in a cool (below 300C) dry place and protect from light. Keep away from children.

Gatifloxacin 400 mg: Box containing 2 strips of 10 tablets each. Each Film coated tablet contains gatifloxacin sesquihydrate equivalent to gatifloxacin INN 400 mg.
