| DESCRIPTION |
Emezin® is an antihistamine, which shows marked proactive activity against nebulized histamine and lethal doses of intravenously injected histamine. It has a marked effect in blocking the vasodepressor response to histamine, but only a slight blocking action against acetylcholine.

| INDICATIONS |
Emezin® is indicated in management of nausea and vomiting, dizziness associated with motion sickness, vertigo associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system.

| DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION |
Vertigo:
For the control of vertigo associated with diseases affecting vestibular system, the recommended dose is 25 to 100 mg daily, in divided dosage, depending upon clinical response.
Motion Sickness:
The usual dose of Emezin® is 25 to 50 mg one hour before traveling and repeated every 24 hours if necessary.
In children aged 6 to 12 years the dose is 12.5 mg once daily.
In children aged 2 to 6 years the dose is 6.25 mg once daily.

| CONTRAINDICATIONS |
Emezin® is contraindicated in individuals who have shown a previous hypersensitivity to it.

| USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION |
It is in pregnancy category B, epidemiological study in pregnant women do not indicate that meclizine increases the risk of abnormalities when administered during pregnancy. Nevertheless meclizine, or any other medication should be used during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly necessary.

| SIDE EFFECTS |
Drowsiness, dryness of mouth and, on rare occasions, blurred vision has been reported.

| PRECAUTIONS |
Since drowsiness may, on occasion, occur with use of this drug, patients should be warned of this possibility and cautioned against driving a car operating dangerous machinery. Alcoholic beverages should be avoided while taking this drug. Due to its potential anticholenargic action, this drug should be used with caution in patients with asthma, glaucoma, or enlargement of the prostate gland.

Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.

Emezin® 50 mg film coated tablet: Box containing 5 strips of 10 film-coated tablets each. Each film-coated tablet contains meclizine HCl USP 50 mg.
